Welcome to Chloe's Cache!

After more than twenty years of sewing, in the early 1970s I discovered quilts and quilt making, and found my true passion! About fifteen years ago I received an invitation to subscribe to an on-line swatch exchange club. I took another look at the size of my fabric stash and sent this reply:
"Thanks for your invitation. I am tempted, but will only subscribe (at this time) under the condition that you promise that no one will send any swatches to me! My fabric stash has finally reached LUNATIC proportions!
God help me if I should ever happen to be standing near my shelves of fabric when a really big earthquake hits! I will be found under piles of fabric, clutching my Hoffman and Alexander Henry pieces, my cottons and flannels, my star prints and florals. My poor, wretched body will be so flattened that my family will be able to bury me vertically, by wrapping my remains around a yardage tube and stuffing it into a drainage pipe. At my funeral, someone will no doubt propose a toast and say, 'She died as she had lived, surrounded by the fabric she loved.' And all the people will dry their tears on the fat quarters I left behind."
As you might have guessed, fifteen years later my stash of fabrics has at least tripled in size. I have wonderful fabrics, but so many of them that my collection has become overwhelming! And I have acquired more quilting and crafts books than I will ever be able to work my way through. It is time to share them with others.
All of my fabrics have been stored in plastic bags or boxes; many have been washed and ironed; and all of them are free of fragrance and smoke odors. I have a book list with cover pictures available via e-mail, if you want to see what they look like. (Write to
quiltmaker138@sbcglobal.net.) I hope you'll like what you see on my "for sale" pages, and that you'll find something that will interest or even inspire you. This is your chance to find something new, and to
Please! Give some of my fabrics and books a (new) good home!
